Dear Kalpana,
Along with Retail sales, one more training is important and that is on managing inventory. In today's cut-throat competition where capital is scarce, managing inventory is of paramount importance. If not managed well, precious capital gets blocked in the form of inventory. In the retail store, managing shelf space is quite important. There has to be a rationale behind what to store and how much to store. This expertise comes only with a strong analytical base and this base can only be developed through training. No retail executive can handle this on his/her own.
