When hr resigns
Hi hr does this that and almost all things and interacts on a both professional and personal level with employees. but when the same hr resigns how do the employees feel the one who are closely bonded with hr one who know the hr and one who are hr friends. what does the hr tells when he . she is asked why u r resigning and i know that all hr can jobs as they both and so it is for hr to join and as they themselves are the boss so rarely we hear of any hr having his salary held or not being releived.. why why this ... we are not and are to make .... the hr is for and at the same time << to <<
Leaderhip story
the hr director a highly successful human resources manager was tragically knocked down by a bus and killed. her soul arrived at the pearly gates where st. peter welcomed her. "before you get settled in" he said "we have a little problem... you see we ve never had a human resources manager make it this far before and we re not really sure what to do with you." "oh i see" said the woman. "can t you just let me in?" "well i d like to" said st peter "but i have higher orders. we re instructed to let you have a day in hell and a day in heaven and then you are to choose where you d like to go for all eternity." "actually i think i d prefer heaven" said the woman. "sorry we have rules..." at which st. peter put the hr manager into the downward bound elevator. as the doors opened in hell she stepped out onto a beautiful golf course. in the distance was a country club; around her were many friends past fellow executives all smartly dressed happy and cheering for her. they ran up and kissed her on both cheeks and they talked about old times. they played a perfect round of golf and afterwards went to the country club where she enjoyed a superb steak and lobster dinner. she met the devil who was actually rather nice and she had a wonderful night telling jokes and dancing. before she knew it it was time to leave; everyone shook her hand and waved goodbye as she stepped into the elevator. the elevator went back up to heaven where st. peter was waiting for her. "now it s time to spend a day in heaven" he said. so she spent the next 24 hours lounging around on clouds and playing the harp and singing which was almost as enjoyable as her day in hell. at the day s end st peter returned. "so" he said "you ve spent a day in hell and you ve spent a day in heaven. you must choose between the two." the woman thought for a second and replied "well heaven is certainly lovely but i actually had a better time in hell. i choose hell." accordingly st. peter took her to the elevator again and she went back down to hell. when the doors of the elevator opened she found herself standing in a desolate wasteland covered in garbage and filth. she saw her friends dressed in rags picking up rubbish and putting it in old sacks. the devil approached and put his arm around her. "i don t understand" stuttered the hr manager "yesterday i was here and there was a golf course and a country club and we ate lobster and we danced and had a wonderful happy time. now all there s just a dirty wasteland of garbage and all my friends look miserable." the devil looked at her and smiled. "yesterday we were recruiting you. today you re staff." iauthor unknown/i

Hr manager dilemma - heaven or hell
One hr manager while crossing the road had an accident and went to heaven. god met him at the entrance and told him though he had spent his entire life telling lies and playing with emotions of other but he also had done couple of good things in life because of which he will get a option to live either in heaven or hell. hr manager replied its the heaven i will opt for but first i would like to have a look at hell before finally settling down in heaven. god replied if you have seen workplace then you dont have to see hell but since you are insisting i will send you to hell god finger snapped and hr manager found himself at the gate of hell and at the entrance gate he saw one of the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. she told she is his guide and host while he is on the tour to hell and took him inside the hell. hr manager was astonished to see the hell beautiful buildings pubs nightclubs beautiful girl golf clubs and what not. he also saw many of his old friends. they all welcomed him he had drinks with them and they told what a wonderful place hell was and he should consider settling down here only. his guide gave him a guided tour of the hell and they had a wonderful time together. next day he went to god who then sent him to heaven. at the entrance of the heaven a old lady welcomed him and took him inside. well.. he noticed heaven was a neat and clean place religious music coming out from everywhere there were prayer halls assembly halls ladies were not so good looking strict code of conduct was to be followed by everybody but no club hotels golf club and the likes. he noticed few of the employees recruited by him were there but they all ignored him. next morning he went to god who asked him what him final decision was. hr manager replied god heaven is good but hell is where real life and the place he would like to spend his time. he also advised god in order to find new entrants to heaven he should hire few hr managers who would make heaven a real cool place as hell currently is otherwise soon a day will come when there would be nobody left in heaven his parting word to god live the job to expert and see the result . god asked him one final time if his decision to go to hell was final. yes replied the hr manager and he found himself at the gate of hell. one of the most ugly lady he had ever seen was at the entrance she caught him by hand and pushed him inside. once inside all he now saw was boiling oil people being pushed into it guards of hell beating person with leather straps people being tortured he saw many of his friends breaking rocks and being tortured. he turned to the lady and asked what is this when i came yesterday this was the most beautiful place what has changed between yesterday and today lady we were you you are an now jump into this pool of your now.
Story: chopsticks in heaven
A woman who had worked all her life to bring about good was granted one wish: "before i die let me visit both hell and heaven." her wish was granted. she was whisked off to a great banqueting hall. the tables were piled high with delicious food and drink. around the tables sat miserable starving people as wretched as could be. "why are they like this?" she asked the angel who accompanied her. "look at their arms" the angel replied. she looked and saw that attached to the people s arms were long chopsticks secured above the elbow. unable to bend their elbows the people aimed the chopsticks at the food missed every time and sat hungry frustrated and miserable. "indeed this is hell take me away from here" she was then whisked off to heaven. again she found herself in a great banqueting hall with tables piled high. around the tables sat people laughing contented joyful. "no chopsticks i suppose" she said. "oh yes there are. look just as in hell they are long and attached above the elbow but look... here people have learnt to feed one another".
Topic for discussion - is story telling an art?
Dear members on one of the wa groups administrator of the forum has brought a topic for discussion. today s topic is on decision on art of storytelling. he has raised the following questions: is story telling an art? does story telling help to solve problems of employees? i have given replies to his questions. my replies are as below: do the examples cited while narrating story create an impact on the minds of employees to transform themselves in their personal as well as professional life? dear rajaram the replies to your questions are as below: q. 1 is story telling an art? reply: of course story telling is an art. it is an art because while story story teller needs to have voice modulation and supporting hand movements. objective storytelling is to influence the other party. therefore appropriateness of the story to the situation at hand is also important. _let me give example of kirtan that is told in maharashtra. in the kirtan mostly the stories from ramayana and mahabharata are told. many of us know those stories still _kirtankar_ hooks us to that place because the method of explanation is marvellous. one does not get bored while listening what is known to him/her._ q. 2 does story telling help to solve problems of employees? reply: no. storytelling is not a problemsolving tool. however it can be used to advance ones argument. it can be used in counselling sessions. if time permits then job interviewees may quote an incident to an behaviour question. q. 3 do the examples cited while narrating story create an impact on the minds of employees to transform themselves in their personal as well as professional life? reply: a story supposed to have only one example and not multiple examples. yes story must create an impact on the minds of the persons but _transformation_ of personal or professional life is too big goal. storytelling helps in shaping the attitude of the persons or inculcate values. final comments: _as stated earlier storytelling is an art. but to master this art one needs to have that kind of reading. just telling examples or incidents from life is not sufficient. to master the art of storytelling one needs to mingle with the diverse elements of the society. to elicit others experiences one should talk less and listen more. secondly after listening the incident one should note down which example is suitable for what purpose. lastly management professionals should read business dailies periodicals etc to enrich their stock of the stories._ thanks dinesh divekar
