We have various group of companies out of which in one company there is only one employee.
Is the Attendance muster necessary to be maintained for this employee.
Kindly let me know the rules and regulations on maintaining an Attendance Muster

You your self telling us that you are group of companies then whether you have taken the advice of HR/Legal department regarding this query. What they are saying ? What is going on in this company ? Whether this is an office where only one employee is working ? If at all none of the labour law is applicable then in that case also one should keep attendance record of each & every employee employed therein.If you do not maintain Attendance & Wages record then how will you defend his service case, if any, filed by him.

Now coming to the next point of Rule & Regulation under which this attendance register is required to be kept maintained. If the area where your company is operating is covered under the State Shops & Establishment Act then you are required to keep this record under the Rules of this Act. It might be possible that your office/ company is covered under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 being one of the schedule employments then we are to maintain muster roll in form V of the Minimum Wages Rules.
