Dear

How to calculate or fix minimum wage is the subject matter of the appropriate Government. Section 5 of the Minimum wages Act, 1948 describes the procedure of fixing and revising minimum wages for employees working in schedule employments. For more details you will have to approach the appropriate Govt.

Dear

This is to inform you that it is not at all possible to provide current/latest minimum rates of wages of all the states of India as after fixing or revising the so called rates different appropriate governments declare different spells for consumer price index numbers connected with the fixed/revised minimum wages rates. Appropriate Govt. fixes minimum rates of wages as per section 4 sub-section(i) to (iii). Thus the Govt. fixes these rates in any of the three sub-sections. For example the Govt. of Rajasthan have not declared CPI linked based minimum wages. The Competent Authorities also takes time in declaring the CPI numbers. You may take the help of the site "Pay check.in" for having knowledge on minimum rates of wages for different states. They put their efforts in having latest updates on these rates but they are also not in a position to provide us current rates as the govt. officials do not provide them this information in time. Even after sending information on increase in CPI No.to the field functionaries, the Govt. web sites are not updated regarding these latest minimum wages. In these circumstances I would like to suggest you to ask your staff deployed in different states to keep in touch with the local labour office for this work.
