Seek hr advice...please help!!!
Dear seniors i am new to this forum and also to the hr in india. so i am hoping to get your expert advice to help me understand more on this. currently i am working in a company in singapore. we are expandind our business in india so i am tasked to handle overall hr there.i was wondering if you could advice me where to start from. : i have some staff who have already started work as contractors. we wanted to give them full time employment but they insisted on getting 10 months renewable contract as according to them this will get them some kind of taxation relief. could you please help me elaborate how does it work and will there be any implications if we give them 10 months contract and give them a renewal with 1 day break in service. i have scrached my head to figure out the things but failed would appreciate if someone can help me and show me some light thank you all. regrads shelly

Hi i need advice from hr team i completed mba form 2009. now i am working as a hr executive since 6months i am working hear. thing is my hr manger is not giving any work to me. daily i am coming to office but not doing any work. i am not satisfied with the job. so many time i asked him.he said i ll give the work but till now i am not doing any thing. i don t know whom to i report. please advice me. and thank you.
Staff holidays- labor laws
Hello all please advice as per the labour laws how many holidays in a year is appropriate or i should approve? my company deals with us and canada so i give 25th till 31st dec off there is no work then and employees are happy too but apart from that how should we give holidays. till now i use to see the bank holidays but because i am in south here there is no diwali holiday and some people do not give eid off some do not give holi. is it holidays are region specific ? i think central and state govt. has different holidays list? also lots of strikes/ bandh occur every 2 months one bandh will be announced and because there is no bus or autos it is difficult for employees to commute. the office strength is small and i cannot afford to give them pick and drop. so they get an add on off. on top they also get sick leaves 10 in a year. i am a bit confused now because i believe we are giving lots of off. what the law says and can the off be region specific? please advice. d

Career advice for hr related job - please advice
Hi let me start from the beginning. i worked as a content writer in a small company for like 1 month and figured out that this is not what i want from my career then i thought to give "hr" a shot. so i started to give interviews and i got placed in consultancy. i worked here for 4 months and for some reasons like targets environment etc i left this job few days back. i have figured out that i want to proceed with this hr thing only but i feel as if i do not have right opportunities in my hand right now. therefore i would like you guys to advice me accordingly. i have done bachelors with honors in english from du. as of now i am pursuing masters in english from i am planning to do mba in hrmajor and operationsminor from distance learning along with this i am planning to take some hr related training this summer. p.s your advises/suggestions would be highly appreciated.
