Hi Outlook,

There should be a specific timeframe within which compensatory off can be availed (which would vary between companies, but nonetheless, it cannot exceed a 30-day timeframe). But whatever said, I believe compensatory off cannot be adjusted against the notice period.

I also concur the views of Meenu. Comp off is outside the purview of rule book and granted or availed based on the exigencies or situations where one needed to oblige.

Hi,

If a person resigns within the 30-day time frame and has 5 comp off days available in the leave account, can't he/she avail his/her comp off against the notice period? Please clarify.

Only PL can be utilised to offset the shortfall in notice period. Comp off will lapse if not availed within a prescribed period.
