My understanding is that you may have to deduct PF from his basic+da and contribute towards employee’s pf.

No you cant deduct PF from trainee’s salary. Trainees are now not entitle for PF benefit. Its supreme court order. Regards Sidharth

Trainee & apprentice are two separate thing. One apprentice cant be an employee. But one trainee himself is an employee of the organization. Infact all the hiring policy of the organization is comply with the company prscribed standing order. Regards Sidharth

Hi, As per Apprentice Act 1961, a graduate or a post graduate who does a training in your organization for completion of his studies is a trainee and organization pays stipned to them to fulfill there basic needs, in this case there is no need to dedcut PF & ESI but if an employee is hired and trained as per company requirement and then finally placed in the respective department, PF needs to be deducted from his monthly remuneration. Thanks and regards, Preeti

If the employee is on pay roll and is not paid on daily basis on voucher then pf is required to be deducted

I was working in a Faridabad ( Haryana) based partnership firm for ast 17 years and due to my family problem I have left my service after completion of 17 years on 03.11.2006 and because of my poor financial problems I have submitted my PF withdrawal form duly completed in all respect to the concerned department in Faridabad and after 28 days on 11.05.2007 one cheque were sent to my bank a/c directly for Rs.202042/- without giving me any covering letter or calculation sheet, but the same were less than my contributed amount as per my calculation and again I have made several efforts to recover balance contributed money and lastly I have come to conclusion that interest from 01.03.2006 to 11.05.2007 were not remitted to me and again some documents were collected from my Employer for same as time to time required by the department and after making every type of efforts for 9 months on 08.02.2008 one another cheque of Rs.17638/- sent to my bank account and after that Rs.3217/- is receivable by me but till date I have not received my balance money .I have wrote many registered & un-registered letters to the department but I have not received even a single reply from the department .
