Dear All,

There is one company where I went and met the Group Financial Advisor to see and know certain HR concerns they are having. When I met him he said that they have one person who looks after the Payroll, other than that there is no HR Department as such. Now I need to make a presentation to their Chairman and Board of Directors highlighting the following questions so that the top management and the Board must understand the value of HRM and its effect to the organization internally and externally.

1. How can HR influence the performance of an organization, departments

and employees?

2. How can HR cope with workforces changes and trends?

3. What are the HR Strategies and Processes that help a firm achieve

competitive advantage?

4. What is the benefit of HR to the top management?

5. How does one keep a check to know if those created strategies are

being properly implemented?

I need to make a Powerpoint presentation for the same. If anyone has it kindly give it to me and I look forward to your valuable comments.

if u could find out what is the retaintion rate, how people join the company and then how many leave the company? what is the increase % of profits in past few years? has the performance of the employees increased? if yes then why? if no then why? are the employees rewarded? what motivates them to perform better? explain all these point than give the examples of some successful companies that use hr policies? what did the company gain from these policies? all you have to do is compare and explain the boss how hr dept will have reduce the cost and increase production ,

Hey,
You can highlight how employee satisfaction can boost employee performance and you can relate HRs role in ensuring employee satisfaction. You can emphasize how appropriate hiring & selection processes can help an organization achieve its objectives and how it can avoid unnecessary costs from occurring. You can ensure having proper HR functions in an organization can eliminate employee related problems.
You can stress by having suitable procedures for PE which can help objectives such as increments and promotions, employee motivation could be improved.
All in all if you focus on the basic HR functions it will help you focus on the effectiveness on the role of HRM which will help you immensely with your presentation.

For your presentation highlight the basic functions and interventions of a typical HR dept:
1. Personnel administration- payroll, salaries and benefits, recruitment and settlement functions.
2. Industrial relations- maintaining a healthy working environment through meaningful dialogues with unions and associations, acting as a mediator between management and employee groups in times of problems and crisis.
3. Manpower planning- your active role in managing the quantum and quality of manpower, their acquisition and utilisation.
4. Developmental- motivation of employees, administering welfare activities, training and HRD.
5. performance management- administration of the appraisal systems, their linkages to succession planning,reward management, team management etc.
These are only some of the major heads which you can project and link to advantages to the organisation.

I want to ask you first that Are you working in that company you have mentioned.........???

If yes the presentation you want to do is a part of your duty & i appreciate that you want to introduce HR ACTIVITES.

But If no & it is simply for your project i think you should not do project in the company where HR ACTIVITIES are not welcomed yet. This is because as a study you can get more information if that company management is against this HR POLICIES.

Still for presentation on HRM take all those main SCOPE OF HRM
