Hi Everyone

I have read all the comments given by all of you that it’s some time we see that the HR people are not behaving in proper way the way they have to behave. And I don’t blame anyone but can say it is the responsibility of their seniors to train them about few things like professionalism, how to handle the client or candidate.

These people are not getting enough job training that’s why some time they don’t know how to behave in a particular situation. But if we are hiring some un experienced or less experienced staff than it’s the organizations or the seniors responsibility to train them properly and time to time keeps a record of their work.

I will give you one live example of mine:-

I was dealing with one of the best consultants in India for our recruitment drive. The lady was supposed to tell me the candidates mobile number so that we can go ahead with the telephonic round of interview. But she did not respond and the day when my assistant was suppose to conduct the interview at 4:00PM she called me up at 03:55 PM on my mobile and said MAM please noted down the numbers and let me know the feedback of the interview. And I was feeling like to shout at that lady like anything and give her a lesson about time management. But than I did not respond and tell her that I have postponed the dates and will let you know the new dates. And next day I personally visited to their office which was really a difficult task for me but still I went over there and met her and her seniors and than told him about the full incidence and make him aware of what is happening there and try to make them understand the importance of proper dealing with the clients and as well as the candidates. And that day I came to know that poor girl was a fresher and a graduate only. She was so confused about her work profile and even not knowing the full form of JD.

I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT IF WE (CORPORATE HR & CONSULTANTS) PUT SOME EXTRA EFFORTS TO TRAIN OUR STAFF IN MORE PROFESSIONAL MANNER THAN ONLY WE CAN COME OUT FROM THIS KIND OF INCIDENTS.

Exactly - we should train keeping in mind that a fresher is just like a baby Its better to train and let the person perform, rather than feel bad in front of some one..
But the problem with a few freshers I have seen is - the attitude. Most of them come with a poor attitude... training such people is really a challenging task

Hi,
Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
I agree with all points but it would not be appropriate to blame only lower level staff. Because I am working with a Consultancy and have even experienced unprofesional behaviour from very senior ppl. These are the ppl who are representing the corporate culture. If seniors are like this then what we can expect from Junior staffs. And apart from this it's an "Individual character". If someone is dedicated towards his/her work,he/she will perform it with the same spirit irrespective of his/her designation.
Regards,
