Hi Raveesh,

You had asked the very basic and very important question. Many of the time it is seen that even after serving in the HR for say 3 -4 yrs the person dont know why he opted for HR, and that is the time when the slow path begaings of one's career.

Answer to this question is always different. but for the best answer and genuine one is the very begining point of the career.......... It is not your first job or first project in HR............ I am talking beyound that..... When you choose to select specialization....Yes that is the point where the right answer is... I will explain why.

A blank mind always produces the optimum result. so at the time of choosing the specialization one is totally blank or you can say your mind is focusing on only one aspect.... You ask several times WHY HR, What is there in HR, What will be probable future in HR and endless WHYsssssss.

The best part is, you answer all the WHYsss at that time, but in the lay mans laungague. Ex. I like to interact with people.

this is not wrong because, none of the answer to this question could go wrong. because everyone have its own reason and justification as well.

OK.. coming back to topic. So now you have the layman answer to this question. after that point of decision, you go on studing the concepts of HR then you do practice on the concepts. at this point of time you and your mind is not in a condition to accept the layman asnwer to WHY HR??????.

what you have to do is furnish that answer with proper terms you had studied till date and see whether they can be best utilized in corporate.

This will increase your confidence as well.

Want to try this...... I will help you..

Take a paper and pen. Put down the points (layman points). these are the traits as well as opportunities for you..

Now try to furnish them, take your time. once done. just go through it as a professional (you are the best judge of yourself, thats why self appraisal system is there in use).

You will find not only right answer to this question but also the right way to answer to the said question................WHY HR?

You know, I had taken the HR for the above reason... this is my best side of work and personality.....

Hope this will help you and others who will read this...... Best of Luck...

I will tell the interviewer,,

WHY DUDE / BABES WHY THIS QUESTION YOU ARE ASKING ???? :-D:-D

I am an educated person having a professional qualification and have relevantly applied for the advertisement and you have called me for interview, and in interview you are asking the most basic question WHY HR?

Sir,

I will surely reply, but will you just think over these questions,,

Why you look like this? (and comment on their looks)

Why did you study in this city?

Why were you born on this earth?

Why you married this person?

Why you went to this college?

Why you were born in this family (poor, middle, rich class)

Why why why,,

asking a question is very easy DUDE / BABES , but see that what you ask is relevant question.

The question which you have asked is about the mysteries of life, and we human beings have no control over it, everything is pre written and as per your fate / kismet / destiny you will get / lose these material things, can you tell me when will you die, you might even die today in some accident (making him drive more cautiously), this ceiling fan might fall on your head (making him look up :-P:-P:-P), or you might get heart attack (making him conscious of his health), or you might live upto 100 years (making him happy) ,,

this is all a game of kismet / fate / destiny all MAYEEE
over which we dont have any control, so why try to explore the unknown?? Let us go with the flow of life, let us life take us and guide us,

Hii Raveesh,
If anyone would ask me why HR? My answer would be as follows -
To me my profession is an extension of myself. Since childhood I had an inclination and liking towards people. People skills were inculcated in me in my early life. In my adolescence,as i travelled to different cities for my further studies,I had an opportunity to meet different kinds of people and observe various cultural changes.I was really amazed at the potential of human beings and their intrinsic qualities. And at that juncture of my life i decided to get into Human Resources..Thats it..

Dear,
HR function holds a prominent position in shaping the destiny of any organization. So its an opportunity for the HR professional to add value in the organization and to touch the heart of people since human resources is the biggest asset to an organization, an organization with out human resource is justlike a body with out the soul.

Dear All ,
We cannot define easily means of HR , its a huge concept. According to me HR is not only a specialization, its a way of Industrial living , we cannot run any company or even a shop without Human Resource. Means for any type of company they need 5M , (Man , Money, Material, Market and Machine). Do you know in this 4M are stands one side and 1M is Stand one side . 1M means Man is alone, without this resource all are useless.

Dear Raveesh,
This is a basic question and the direct answer to it is........
Human Recourse is the most valuable assets of any organization, if you can't manage this resource than it would be very difficult to mange and control on the other factors.
So taking this into the consideration organization need some people who have the skills and knowledge with the help of which they can mange and control this asset.
On the other hand you can also say that the HR people will provide the organization the right people with the required and suitable competencies so as the organization can ensure its success path.
hope this will satisfy your trust...
let me know about the same...
good luck..
