Hi Friends,
We do celebrate birthdays for our employees on a monthly basis. This time, we have the plans, but we also have Friendship Day coming on a weekend. It would be great if you could give me a few ideas on celebrating Friendship Day in the corporate sector.
Regards, Prerana
P.S.: Kindly do not give me old ideas like cards or bands... some new ideas, please :)

Hi Prerana,
This is Rudra here. I am an event manager from Mumbai. We organize events for corporates for different occasions and festivals. Apart from corporate events like seminars, conferences, product launches, team building games, activities, etc., I would suggest giving customized mugs. You can have a caricature artist in the office who will design a customized design for all your employees.
Ideas are endless, depending upon the budget.

Hi Prerana,
Sorry if this idea seems old, but this is something we used to do in our college. It's called Secret Friend. We used to write and put everyone's name in a box. Then each of us would go and pick a chit. It need not be everyone doing it together; we used to leave it on the desk, and anyone can go and pick it anytime, but only once. And no one says who got whose name. On Friendship Day, each of us has to bring a gift for the person whose name we have taken.
We used to have lots of fun doing this since it's always a surprise to know who your secret friend is and also helps in bringing the whole class together.
Regards,
Ami

WHy dont you work, and let the employees work? Always bring something not relevant and disturb employees, seems all HR only know how to organise event s and dont know other things ;-0

Ravi, if HR stops doing all this stuff, you are the guys to make a fuss about it! And remember, a little fun at the workplace adds motivation. You really can't work for 8 hours a day. So, if now and then something new is done, it makes the workplace more exciting and lively - a place where you like going and enjoy working.

Dear All,
We would be celebrating the Friendship Week starting from Monday. During this week, we will have various fun-filled events with a touch of the Friendship Theme. We would like to invite the QBAN DM team to participate in events such as Poem writing, Painting, and Collage with the theme "Friendship".
The Event schedule is as follows:
3rd August: Friends on the floor are requested to come dressed in the same color theme (decided by the friends).
4th August: A photo session will take place between 2 to 3 PM in the BSP Breakout area. You can pose with your friends to make those moments memorable. Please continue with the same dress theme.
5th August: This is the day to submit Poems, Collages, and paintings to the respective points of contact mentioned below. You may collect the charts from Julian for the collage.
The SPOCs for the submission are Lorrainesonia D'Souza for the BSP Building and Binod Panigrahi for the NTS Building.
6th August: All collages, Paintings, and Poems will be displayed.
7th August: This marks the conclusion of the Friendship Week. In the BSP Breakout area, the FGC will host various Friendship Programs. An interesting Quiz program will be conducted to bring the best friends together. Please send your entries to Geetha Biradar to participate in the Quiz.
A few things to note before sending entries:
1. The Quiz is to be taken by a pair of friends.
2. Please provide both names together.
3. Both participants should be available at the time of the Quiz.
We look forward to a great bonding week.
Regards

How about a day with no frustrations, anger, scoldings, or shoutings? And a day with lunch outside, just in casual attire, makes life simple and easy. Celebrating otherwise with all the other things looks too childish - I mean employees will get bugged!

Hi, I am working as an HR professional, and the activity that I have decided on is as follows: We will create chits for all the employees and ask each employee to pick a chit to determine who they need to do something special for. This activity encourages employees to showcase their thoughts and creativity by organizing a special day for the person they have selected through the chits.

Why don't you think of something that would be more like a team-building/relationship improvement session?
Anyone would feel good about knowing how much one appreciates his/her personality/attributes/skills. Take, for instance, if you have 20 staff members on Friday - send an email to everyone on the floor with the names of people who they closely interact with. Ask them to be ready with the positive attributes they feel about the person on the list and read it out loud during the Friendship Day meeting.
It can be as simple as - what I would have to say for my colleague: (Example)
"When I first met Jane, I thought she was just full of attitude and a stubborn-natured lady. But during the time I spent interacting with her closely, especially during the ABC project, I realized how bad I was at judging such a wonderful person.
If there are any praises for my work - it goes to Jane's efforts in molding me to what I am today.
Jane - you are a true leader. I am sure that a few years down the line, you would have many people wanting to work in your team - simply because you know how to make the best of anyone!"
After this - distribute something good to eat (snacks). People crave that.
Maybe you can have a cake cutting ceremony too.

Wow! Anita, great initiative. And Ravi, I agree with Neha, it is the job of HR to provide an environment where employees love to come and create memories that will always keep them connected to the company.
Prerana, I suggest that, although I am not aware of the culture of your company or the age group of the employees, you can also organize a small party with dancing and dinner for employees and their families. Additionally, include some games to help build strong teams and improve interpersonal relations.
Hope you will have a great time on Friendship Day. Wish you all a happy Friendship Day in advance.

We can celebrate friendship as Appreciation Day in the office. We can print tags for appreciation. If anyone wants to appreciate, they can pick a tag, write their comments, and place it on the notice board. At the end of the day, we can see how many tags we received. The person with the most tags will be declared the best friend of all colleagues in the office. 🌟
