Dear All,
I am looking for a Work from Home Policy which can take care of aspects like:
1) Providing Broadband connection
2) The duration of allotment & the in-built costs.
3) Providing the Laptops & its accessories
4) Advantages & Dis-advantages of this facilities.
The above mentioned are some of the points which i could figure out. With lot of other relevant info, waiting for lots of response from every body out there at the earliest possible time.

Hi,
We recently launched a work from home policy. Its based on the level and specifically role that the person plays. Its not applicable to people managers who manage small or large teams.
There are various levels of connections depending on the usage and duration of work. The braodband approval is for Rs1000/-.
Employee gets a laptop with accessories.

Just putting some inputs on Work from Home Policy
1) Providing Broadband connection
[The individual/employee can take it on his own costs. Unlimited Usage Time is available. Monthly Bills/Costs can be refunded by the Company after prior agreement between the Employer and Employee, and as long as the employee is in the rolls of the company.]
2) The duration of allotment & the in-built costs.
[Allotment is subject to the Employee being on the rolls of the company or as per need based work. In built costs to be borne by the company. But once handed over the the Employee it is their responsibility to safeguard it.]
3) Providing the Laptops & its accessories.
[Laptops can be given to employees who are on field work, by the Company after necessary approval and signing on the necessary forms concerned before handing it over to the employee. Else if the employee has his own laptop, sofwares can be installed by the employer, but the original licenced version will be retained by the employer. Along-with laptops Broadband USB Connections with certain usage limit can be provided which can be paid/reimbursed by the company.]
4) Advantages & Dis-advantages of this facilities
[Advantages to Employer: Extract work from the employee on the move.
Disadvantages to Employee:You need to report irrespective of the time. (Just Kidding)]

Hi there, please find the following notes that you may consider when developing a manual on managing employees working from home
Providing of the following and billing method
a. Providing a personal line phone line OR
b. Providing mobile phone
c. Providing of laptop
d. Providing internet Access
What are the agreed number of working hours
What are the deliverables agreed
Attending weekly meetings
Internet connection
Access Work mail account
How to pay the employee according to the hours provided.
Using of other facility company have not provided and billing the company
Setting of meetings and attending as a representative to the company
What are the travel allowanced to be provided if required

A well-structured Work from home policy gives the employees the right infrastructure for uninterrupted working environment . The right technology tools and training in time management and IT skills will help implement the work from home program and also help employees adapt to this new working style .
Constant monitoring and using tools like skype and trello for work management and review meetings are important and motivate the employee as well .
You must also keep in the mind the security angle of the work from home program and ensure that your data is secure and not compromised .
