Hi am Nandita, currently working as Assistant Manager-Investor Relation for a leading Mutual Fund House since past two yrs.
This is my first job.I am on Third Party payrolls & the Co has no intention to take me on Co's payroll.
Now I have an offer from following two Cos-
1.An MNC bank as Client Servicing to HNI clients(Private Banking)-profile something broader/different from what I currently do.But again on third party payrolls.

2.A Mutual Fund House/Broker as Back Office-Investor Services, profile something similar to what I currently do.But on Company payrolls.

I am confused which should I take up?
Take up the 1st option-I am already on third party payroll wherein I have experienced the pay is less than mkt standards,no bonuses,u cannot demand increments per year.In case u get, then ur lucky.U have very limited rights. This MNC bank is paying me 50k more(in CTC) to compensate. But is it worth the amt to forego Co payroll.

Take up the 2nd option-Growth in terms of profile is limited, doing something similar. But adv is that I would be on Cos payrolls.

Hey guys am confused, should I go for the profile or select the Co payroll job.Am a little apprehensive coz I have spent 2yrs of my career on third party payrolls & was not satisfied. But will this be different. Also in this difficult times where people are laid off, will being on third party payroll be a risk. Please help!!!

Go for the second option. At this stage in your career, grab the first opportunity to be on the rolls of an established company, even at a slightly reduced salary. You can build up some experience in this company and switch jobs to a better paying job and a better company, when you have the appropriate opportunity.

hey raj, thanks for your valuable feedback. But you know the main problem is that am getting stagnated in my current job as there is no scope to learn new things.Tried many times to reason out with the organisation, but no use.I am doing the same thing for the last two years, whereas as my peers not only adding to their knowledge but also thier pay.
As of now at least not the pay,but am eager to learn new things.
If I take up a job in a reputed firm on payroll.Wont I be stuck doing the same stuff again for next 1-2 years?
Also after four yrs of work ex,my knowledge bank would almost nil.
The above thought is making me confused.

Hi Nandita,
You need to pritorise on whether you want a secure job ( todays time on security though) with benefits of being company payroll or work experience and money being on third party payroll.
If the terms of both the appopintment are same then you can can again takeup option no.1.
Secondly if you are confused stay in current job, look to change when mkt becomes normal, so you will have more options for which you can make up your mind.
In the case any how you want to change only then pritorised your needs and act, which you only can do since you only know abt your work abilities and growth better than us.

Hi Nandita,
My Suggestion was better you choose new career(Different profession or Industry) from now on wards as a direct employment (I.e on roll) , and leave out this past 2 years experience as part of a third party payroll.
Because, you have clearly mentioned that there is no scope to learn new things in this profession or job, so I am accepting your point.
If you again going for a third party payroll, suppose if you are going for a interview HR will consider those candidates who worked as a direct employee of that particular company first and then only they can look up to you, so from my point of view its very difficult to get into from third part payroll to onroll job.
Hope it will give you a clear idea what you need to do.
Regards
Siva
