No pay during maternity
Hi i work in an it company for 2 years and i am 7 months prgnant right now. my hr says i can avail 3 month maternity leave however i will get just my basic salary for three months also it will be paid only after i come back from my maternity leave. even then it will take 2 more months for them to process itmeaning i need to wait for 5 months from the day i take maternity leave to get 3 months basic pay. is it legal? i have huge commitments i was in an assumption that i will get my full salary for 3 monthsduring maternity like my friends who work in other companies. now its coming like a shock that i will not get paid for 3 months. is it legal not paying the employee who is going on maternity leave? i mean during maternity not after 5 months please advise on this.

Hi friends i have a situation at my work place where my colleague has applied for maternity leave from july 12010. however under emergency situation she has been admitted to hospital on june 291010. she also has not been to work since june 212010 hence wanted to reconsider her maternity leave effective june 212010. though she has given birth to a male child just after an hour the baby passed away. my queries are: 1. would the mother be still eligible for maternity leave? if yes how long? 2. can the company reconsider her maternity leave dates? awaiting your replies. thanks sarah
Maternity leave - legality of company providing unpaid leave only?
Dear all the company which i work in is a manufacturing company registered under the factories act. here they provide unpaid maternity leave. only the leaves that are entitled to the employee iepl slcl are given and the rest are considered as leave without pay. is this legally right? doesnt the maternity benefit s act say that maternity leave should be 12 weeks of paid leave? kindly resolve my query. regards nandita

Hi i have learned that according to sixth pay commission maternity leave for state central govt. and civil/civic service employees has been extended to 6 months/180days. my mom is teacher with govt. school and they have revision in maternity leave for 6 months whereas i work in private organization where policy states only 3 months leave. i contacted hr and they said policy would be revised in case of changes to maternity benefit act. is there any changes in maternity benefit act for maternity leave so that its beneficial for people working with private organizations? please confirm. regards gayatri amardeep.

I work for mnc in bangalore went on maternity leave first pregnancythis year feb 2018 and just joined back office in october 2018.i got pregnant again 3 months post first delivery.i am due with my second pregnancy in march 2019.i am planing to take leaves from january 2019 can i take maternity leave within 3 months of joining office back from first maternity leave or will my company create any problem. please suggest.
