Oophs.Deepak you have given an exhaustive list of legislations that are to be taken care of in the industry. Really good! I will also note a few which have been omitted by me for my future ref.

I doubt the answers which have been given is absolutely alright. Could you please check whether 360 degree is applicable only for peer, subordinates, HOD and self appraisals or it also includes Customers and Suppliers, whereas the next anyone who is directly or indirecly interrelated to you may come as an appraiser. Am I right?? and I believe u missed to brief 270 degree, which is actually what you have explaned for 360..isn't it??

hi rajeev,
statutory compliances differ from company to company, but generally there are few important ones that atleast a fresher needs to know.
ESI,PF,professional tax, payment of Bonus,Maternity benefit, minimum wages and payment of wages act. there are attachements in this regard posted by our fellow friends of this group.
but yes we atleast need to know the basic of every law for added knowledge.
thank you for your comments,

hi urvi,
i am doing PGDHRM and the subjects i mentioned are there in the first sem, i guess at the end of all we get to know the same basic knowledge.
i think it differs from courses and universities that you are appearing also.
but yes i agree good insight to know the subjects.

hi bhawana,
thank you
i went for this interview, and found that i will be doing very well.
the interviewers looked quite simple to me.
but when the questions poured in i was zapped. i didnt expect the interviewer to be so perfect with every word. i guess experience speaks . being in this field isnt easy task.
most important thing is knowledge, convincing power and presence of mind.

deepak,
my interviewer told me 360 degree includes clients and suppliers.
but i have surfed a lot on this and found that 520 degree includes this portion.
but yes may be some companies call a 360 degree an appraisal that includes everyone. i did mention this to the interviewer and he was convinced after he looked it up himself.
270 degree is what i hear from you and i surfed the below info for it. if you add subordinates to 270 degree then you will have a 360 degree.
definition of performance appraisal
90 degree = one person review (self or another, the boss)
180 degree = two person review (self and boss/manager)
270 degree = three person review (self, boss, and peers or direct reports)
360 degree = four person review (self, boss, peers, and direct reports and subordinates)
there are many more like 540 (360+clients/suppliers),720(540+double feedback process) and so on
