Employee engagement approaches for new employees
Best practice recommends starting right at the selection or recruitment stage with:
· The right person and giving them a realistic job preview
· A strong induction and orientation programme
· Rigorous training and development, from technical to soft skills to leadership development programmes.
· Regular technical/soft-skill updates.

dear Shivani,

in our organization (a manufacturing company) we have launched various initiatives for our blue collared employees -

1. We provide food coupons to all our employees (once in year) to take their family out for dinner. We have tied up with many prominent restaurants in the city, who accept our coupons and also give our employees good discounts.

2. We have organized regular health check ups (dental, orthopedic, eye, etc.)for our employees. We have organized medical check ups for spouses of our employees.

3. During school vacations, we have helped organize painting competions, hobby classes for the children of our employees

4. We felicitate the children of our employees who have scored 80% and above in their board exams

5. During important festivals, we give sweets to our employees

6. We have also organized marriage counselling sessions for our newly wed employees or their children.

7. We also have a small shop in our premises wherin our employees can buy household stuff at subsidized prices

8. Vocational guidance is also provided to the children of our employees

9. Employees are also involed in TQM & TPM related activities. They have been encouraged to participate in improvement projects and their initiatives are displayed to the top management through exhibitions

10. If any employee, as a part of any improvement team, has made a significant cost saving, then as a reward, he will get certain percentage of that saving.

Thanks,

Lijo
