Good or not so good...the value of HR is how well they help the organisation achieve its' business goals through effective people management.
One of the things that makes HR interesteing from my point of view is trying to find that balance between organisational achievement and advocacy for employees. Once HR loses sight of its' role in advocacy, the organisation is in danger of becoming manipulative and exploitative. Sadlt this happens all too often.

Well everything is O.K. but my prob is I've been in my company for the past 1 yr not only me the whole of HR Dept(HR manager and me) is new to the comp. so everybody is thinking that HR dont have any work at all. If we have also, that can be done by anybody else. This is their actual attitude...I dont know how to deal, they are just insulting us in front of anybody that we are simply sitting idle.
Pls suggest me how to deal with this kind of people.

go on a holiday for a month...including your HR manager
it willl be fun and they will learn ur worth
try it out seriously..i wld talk to my boss and see wt he has to say abt my idea.n if my boss wld agree ..thn adios for a month
if u really think its not feasible
remember
TO NOT BE CRITICIZED...DO NOTHING & BE NOTHING :)
i know its not easy..but smile and be good to others.
u know ther is this funda....smile at a stranger.....very rare chances of him smiling back
next time u see the stranger......smile again
again rare chances of him smilin
this might take some time
but the stranger is gonna smile back sooner or later
if bcoz of nothin...he might think ur silly for smilin at him for a month n may give u wry smile back....BUT HE WILL SMILE
trust me at this :) main ho na

Hi Devi...
Almost every person joining a new company faces a similar problem... Specially when the position is new in the company and the higher ups have not clearly defined the working criterias...
Further, there are certain groups, [they call themselves as core groups] which want to show that they are superior then others... and they would go to any extent to prove that...
But remain positive...
No company would spend money on a department / employee it doesn't see as necessary or not giving sufficient output....
Your aim should be to handle your responsibilities with efficiencies and employee relations is one of the responsibility...

Try organising, outbound training of "Team Building".

>>> This will help in bonding together with each other
>>> Team building exercise would show the employee that it takes a team to finish the task in time and with efficiency
