hi, i understand u r situation, the people who assigned for that work there are two ways they can execute one they receive and line up people based on their own creative plan once they understand their responsibility, second is they are directed by their superiors to do so, if it the case what would you do, they are directed to receive only the mobile number and kept mum until other command will come from their superior.
but the people working in HR must have the qualities and interpersonal relations to how to attend a phone call at the very first time if a job seeker calls with lots of expectations if you said you will call back, untill the seeker waits with lots of assumptions, so i accept and understand this must be changed.

Must be fake position. You must call back and give your peace of mind. This is not the way to behave.very bad impression about HR people.

Hi Hardeep,
I understand and sympathise with you. Its very true how a job seeker feels...But as you go on in life you will realise that we as a country have to go a long way in achieving basic standards and being straight or showing sincerity. Because a company or any organisation can set rules and processes may be formulated, but finally it is the people who bring the beauty of the norms in to manifestation.
Whenever a HR person fails on behaviour aspect it is the individual's problem, it is not the company to be blamed for, though many trainings on soft skills are imparted for this reason they still fail to inculcate the desired traits on the job.
Go through this blog I just came across, which talks at length on these aspects: First impressions: First Abroad Travel - Canada

HI seniors....

First of all thank you so much for your replies....

U know what ...i raised this topic yesterday because i'm really fed up of this thing again and again happening with not only me but also those candidates who gave interview with me...those candidates who really have family problems...those candidates who don't have

enough money to attend interview but still any how their parents arrange money for them

what makes their parents do this thing....????it just a HOPE....guys they think may be this time my son/daughter will get this job......

Some candidates (like me) rush for interviews sometimes out of town also..only with a hope of getting job.(I KNOW...ITS NOT A BIG THING TO TRAVEL FOR INTERVIEW)

I remember that when i posted my thread related to recession...where i asked/shared problem related to recession..... might be its due to recession they(employer) behave so...most of the replies was "Better don't blame recession" might be you're not the skilled one or perfact for the post( I STILL ACCEPTED N ENJOYED EVERY REPLY.....bUT THIS IS THE THING WHICH I WANTED TO BRING IN UR KIND NOTICE FRIENDS....!!!!!

Hi seniors(best example to understand...situation)

let me introduce the smartest one.......NOW...

These are the girls.....who called me for an urgent opening in mumbai only....

in their office. at that time i was out of mumbai....still as soon as i got their sms i rushed to their office travelled all the way to mumbai(4 hrs away from my location)

I entered in the office one boy came out of cabin and asked me"yes how can i help you"

I as usual very gently, politely( introduced myself)and replied..."I want to meet

\Than he showed me the way to go in....

Now ...i was sitting there just waiting for my turn( there was no one else for the interview)

AFTER SOMETIME...The voices came from another cabin..."Girls common now get back to work...." and at the same time the boy who met me first opened the door and i heard one girl was saying...KYA MADAM...why you called up candidates for the interview...

And she what m getting bored....yaar there's nothing to do in this office....

I thought she must be joking....Nevermind.

While interview she asked me only 2 questions

1) what is the meaning of HR?

2) Salary expectation..?

finished ........saying that our Boss is out of so we'd call u back day after tomorrow.

i waited for 3 days...In these three days what i did?????

I called them to hear the final decision...some prashansa picked up the phone saying

Hey Hardeep.

I understand.

Infact I was also cheated like this by L&T Infotech executive at Chennai - it was for an HR executive role.

I am based out of coimbatore (its far from Chennai - like 8 hrs journey)

I received an email from them stating that there is a vacancy for HR executive and freshers (MBA) were being asked to attend interview. There was a educational requirement (% cut off) they were looking at. I matched their requirement. I called up their executive (some Satish), and confirmed if i can attend interview. He said "yes Asha, we have seen your resume, you match our requiremnet, pls come before 10:00 AM"

I was a fresher and this was my first interview call. I was excited, and went to chennai.

Two mins - after I reached there, I submitted the application form, and we had to take a written test. It was quite easy. after completing the test, they took all papers inside and came out with the first round of elimination results, and my name was there (I was really disappointed). I asked them for my answer sheet (I dont know - I was frustrated, and wanted to check)...

But to my suprise, the lady there - wearing a skinny outfit, told me she cant show the paper that was evaluated. After asking and probing for a long time...a senior person called me seperately and said - actually our HR executive made a mistake. We have this vacancy only for local candidates, and we are sorry we called you. He was in a very apologizing form, and told me that I will be considered in future if they require anyone else. I did not want to stand there and explain - I was totally demotivated.

But I showed a little bit of my childish nature - I got my answer paper from them (neatly kept and not evealuated) and walked out.

My dad was waiting outside near the car - and I was almost in tears when I looked into his eyes.. But he was really helpful in making me get over it. He said - if it were not for this interview, I would have never had the chance to show Chennai to you ;-)

Dunno how it relates..but thought I could share my bitter experience with you.

There were lots of occasions where I have got disappointed by the improper reply and poor response from companies.
In so many interviews, after calling they say its for particular people residing near the locality of work place.
In other instances, they would have already selected persons and just post interview advts.
They all collect the CV in the data bank and call this in future, a positive aspect. In some cases they have specified gender but after getting to know that its the male applications received, they say the vacancy is for female.
Lots of irresponsible and poor HR people are there as pointed out by Hardeep.
But, as Mr.Ravi said, its just a waste of time to spend on these irregular and improper companies.
