Hi Rakesh,

I see that there is no point in asking for your rights to continue with them anymore. But since they have terminated you, pls ask them for the final settlement, and keep moving.

Reason for termination may be: a) They found someone for a better pay b) OR they were desperately in need of someone for that posting of yours, and did not find anyone really good at that point. They felt you were average and hired you to put the fire off. And later, they came across this new candidate who seemed to be just the right person whom they were lookign at, and they had no choice - had to hire him. c) OR - they felt it will take time and investment to train you, and they had no choice because of falling profits - but hire another person who maybe much experienced than you.

It happens - not just in export industry---but across all industries.

Regarding your next job:

Please check if the company that you are being offered a job, has the ability to pay you the salary that fits your profile.

When you do a salary negotiation, cleraly tell them that, you owuld like the range to be within the company standards. Becuase if its not within teh company standards and if they are lookign to hire you just to put away the fire at the moment, then you need to tell them that you are looking for a long term relation, and not that of a short lived one.

Depression is one thing that stops anyone from thinking forward - I dont know, its like a sympton in which - you are not able to look at the brighter side - I cant tell you to stop being depressed, because, I know the difficulty in coming out of it.

I have also been through major depression in my life - and I can confidently say that, once you see the light and the opportunity thats waiting behind door, one day you will turn back and see how much these incidents in life has taught us to be careful while choosing and making life's important choices. Now to make this door visible to your eyes - stop playing the past in your head. Be confident - the hand that held you until now, knows how to lead you forever.

Life is 10% of what happens to you, and 90% of what you make out of it!

Good Luck!

Hi, As what everybody said "Ask them to give it in writing",as per my knowledge they will not do that and in turn try to convince you in resigning or do something else to throw you out of the company

Hi Friends,
I have also faced the same problem. I was working with a US based travel company from last 23 months on HR profile and it is no where mentioned in my appointment letter that they can ask me to leave without any reason. I was not comfortable working in Graveyard shift i.e. 10 PM to 6:00 AM. My AM shifted me to that shift without any specific work. He also stopped my salary & incentives for the month of May, 09 & my other dues like medical & incentives for the month of April, May & June are with the company. Kindly suggest what to do.

Dear,

Value this mishap as a window of your opportunity. It saddens me a lot that administration like this does'nt have any humane approach to deal such kind of staff dismissal.

As an adviceto you, looks way how you can cope up with the emotions. It seem that it is dearer for you to hold on to this job. But LIfe must go on..... you never know there is silver lining apart from this downfall.

The company has its full right to terminate and specially in times of this crisis. Yet the door for you is not close. Turn up of your daily schedule, spice it up and accelerate. Start by editting your CV, arranged your documents and search for job openings. You would least like to feel depress also when you accept this circumstances as a privilege to move on...

LASTLY MY WORD OF ADVICE TO YOU....you may have fallen in the mud, but that is not something to be ashamed and afraid of...!! What is shameful it to remain in the mud-fearful ....and NOt to stand up..Carry on you can do the most of it by starting all over.

Hi Rakesh,
Think this as a right time to explore yourself, find out the right opportunity and take the situation positvely. There might be a better opportunity waiting for you, find it and prove yourself instead of getting depressed. ALL the very best.
