dipstick survey is basically a survey with open end questions in it where people are free to speak up their mind. A dipstick survey is the same as an exploratory survey. It is called a dipstick because "dipstick" by definition means "a measuring rod that is dipped into a container to indicate the depth of liquid in it" and an exploratory research is also conducted to measure the scope or depth of a problem.
Pls note Dipstick Survey is conducted to feel the employee pulse about the organisation. It covers a wide range about the organisation. It helps the organisation to know what make an employee satisfied, where changes are required and how employee can contribute more to the growth and success of the organisation. R the employees happy, or they are planning to quit...what would make them stick to the company and so on so forth......
Thanks Gagan for your kind reply. The concept is quiet clear to me now. Have to got any tools to conduct this survey? (Any questionnaire, survey format?) Regards, Shijit.
