I have selected the topic "Indian Organisational Behaviour" for my project.
I would appreciate the feedback from members of this forum on whether this is a good topic. I also request some help with a good questionnaire which would help me do proper research on the said topic. Any further information relating to the topic will also be most welcome. It will be very kind of you.

Hi, I am copying my response to your earlier post.
I will certainly help you provided you do some background reading and then pose a focussed and clear query.
The topic of "Indian Organizational Culture" is too wide. What type of organisation (MNcs, SMEs, PUCs, etc) are you thinking about. Are you thinking of Shop Floor culture or at the Director's level? For example see SSRN-Organisational Control as Cultural Practice: A Shop Floor Ethnography of a Sheffield Steel Mill by Thomas Ahrens, Massimiliano Mollona
Are you trying to find out how an organisation's culture has changed when it is taken over or merged?

First of all I will thank you for taking your precious time for visiting my post and for replying me and giving me a helping hand.
You know that in India, employees are not much encouraged to participate in management decisions like in Japan and in other advanced countries. For example, Quality Circles. Also, in India, employees are treated in different sense like in some organizations they are not payed as per their work. The employees always keep complaining about their work and their boss. You may be also knowing that in India, before going to work or starting it, the people prays to their respective gods. Thus through this project I want to quote this typical type of behavior and culture in Indian organizations. Because of my project, the upcoming MNC's and the new entrepreneurs will get a hint of Indian thoughts and practices and how to do business in India.
I am going to make a research in some medium type of companies in Mumbai.

Hello Nankar (I hope I have addressed you properly, as you have not signed your message).
Some of the things you have stated (for example, praying to 'gods') is more a personal culture than an organisational culture (HR experts please correct me if I am wrong). I had worked in India for 5 years, in the 60s in a defence establishement and I had not experienced any praying to god at work. However, I had participated in Ayudha pooja, Laxmi pooja etc during festivals. I am sure you are right, there are places and person where that practice is done (as I have read in the newspapers that even ministers do that).
I have not come across any questionnaire or studies. The best bet is to search the web and adapt from previous studies questions that are applicable and then devise your own to elicit information such as the practice of praying before starting work.
Best wishes
Simhan
