Hello All,

There is this peculiar problem faced by me. After my post graduation I have joined this company. Its a mediocre company but the kind of profile offered to me is really challenging.

Currently, my job requires me to travel often all over India. I am open for traveling but due to set corporate travel policy of company I need to travel by 3 tier AC and to stay at properties which are 1 or 2 stars & even at times Non - Ac rooms.

Well, fortunately whenever I traveled before for my personal work or any tours I have always traveled by air & stayed in standard hotels.
Now, Here on my officially trips, I even upgrade the hotel rooms or train travel class by paying from my own pocket.

Kindly give me some suggestion to deal with this situation when your employer expects you to do which you not used to it ? Shall I look for change for this reason ? Coz its been 1 year and I am paying the difference for hotel rooms or upgraded train fare.

I may sound arrogant here But its a genuine concern. I will be glad IF you could give your valuable suggestions.

Learn to travel the way the common indian travels it will be a new experience for you, and as far as stay is concerned, you can stay in good hotels , before going to any hotel check its reviews from mouthshut.com and other networking websites.
And company policy must refrain the company from paying you air tickets and 5 star hotel accomodation,
you know even I am going through a similar kind of thing, but just go through this phase, because then next phase will be somewhat more sweet.
first try to understand that offical and personal are different , Better You look for new job.
if you are really concerned about this (even the company gives you more scope of career growth and you are not concerned), it is your liberty to look for a company where competitive employee friendly measures are undertaken.

Each company have their own travel policy and as per the designation, your policy differs. And if you are really not able to adjust to common hotels and finally you gotto pull money out from your own pocket its better if you look out for another good job which requires less travel. Maybe couple of times you might spend your own money but not for long soon you might get frustrated towards your company so better if you look for change as soon as possible.
