If an employee is working on national holiday, what are the types of compensation that can be given to the employee by the company? we are registered company of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
If any employee is working on national holiday, he is eligible for payment twice the rate of his total earning secondly the leave of the same should be compensated wuth compensatory off within 10th day I think labour legislature of maharastra will also acknowledge this.

I worked on 15th august as i was called by my employer, i was expecting a double pay and a comp off. Am i right or am i only eligible for a double pay? Am i eligible for a comp off according to the labour law?

Legally, a person working on national holidays is entitled for double wage along with normal wages. This can be spilt as one day wage paid extra and a comp off.
