What my colleague has said is absolutely true.....Just type COmpetency Mapping in google search and you will find many articles on it which have been posted by our Citehr members....

I would suggest - pls do a good search on what competency mapping means, and try to understand the concept.
Your question on how long it will take to implement completely depends on the nature of industry, the limitations in gathering information, the initiativess from others to co-operate with you, the chances of the implementation being successful in the very beginning, above all - your involvement.
Among these 250 employees- how may levels and grades are there (not for our information alone - but also for "your" information.
