We have some employees who are covered under ESI and rest of the employees have been insured throuhg Group Health Insurance Scheme and Personal Accident Insurance. Inspite of that , is it necessary to take insurance under Workman Compensation Act.

neither it is necessary nor legally required to take insurance cover under workmen compensation act.whose salary are upto 10 k might be covered under ESI.I personnaly donot feel to give insurance cover under workmen compensation act who are not covered under ESI.they will not get much benefit under workmen compensation act as there nature of job is not as such.

It is adviseable to get insurance policy for those workman who are not covered under ESI Act,1948 & are covered under ths definition of the workman under W C Act,1923 from a insurance company.

Under no circumstances, it is possiible to claim more from Insurance Companies and pay less as compensation.

Yes it is compulsary, if the person is not covered under ESIC then the person to be covered under WCI ACT, Even if the insurance is taken.
