Hi All,
Recession is still on so as cost cutting and reduction in pay but as an MBA Hr Pass out 2007-09 batch, Me and my batch mates have a very bad experiences in todays job market. The worst thing happening is about difficulties faced by newcomer Hr's. Irrelevant profiles, meager salaries and non acceptance of HR freshers is quite common. Marketing and finance jobs are also in bad condition but still options of survival are seen. As always in debate, HR is a cost centric deptt. rather than revenue generating, the reductions and less openings in this field is clearly viewed. The real question is what about the passionate HR students who want to make career in core HR??? Shall they shift to other streams or accept offers of Back end operations (nothing to do with HR profile) that are often offered nowadays. This is a question to all esteemed HR experts regarding their suggestions for new HR professionals to overcome from this state of dilemma.
Thanks in Advance,
Vishal Dogra

Hi Rajeev Sir,
Thanks alot for your wishes and suggestions, though problem of unavailable relevant HR profiles is still there. Even for recruitment profiles vast experience is expected nowadays, whereas most of the fresh HR's are applying for these jobs. Most painful fact is that due to this pressure of losing time some of my bright HR batchmates are joining organisations as fresher marketing executives, as these jobs are found relatively easy as compared to HR. But this experience they cant show up in future for any HR position openings.
As you rightly said wait for the better time is essential.
Thanks,

Hi Vishal,
I would like you to suggest something.
Select few companies from the industry who would want to work in. Approach the Hr Managers for doing some Hr projects. Before hand select few good topics and be ready with the synopsis. Role of Hr in recession, Cost cutting without lay offs etc is hot topic for Hrs.This will not only give keep you on the track but also give you some much required Hr experience.
All the best.
