Hello Everyone. There has been a time when I found it really difficult to sleep…but that was a long time ago.

Now, I would like to share a few tips to everyone who are deprived of sleep and try hard to sleep in the night. First – a few tips from my own kitty: (Workable solutions :))
  • Have dinner at least 2 hours before sleep. An early dinner will be helpful for easier digestion and less disturbances while sleeping – have it at 7:00 PM
  • Have a healthy dinner, not a heavy dinner:idea:. Keep it light and tasty enough to make you feel that you are filled with your choice of food. Avoid – spicy food, intake of alcohol, smoking, or even eating while doing other tasks. Just like how you try to save time, the body also tries to forget that it ever ate something on time. Eat peacefully, and slowly.
  • Avoid watching serials or movies that can create a sense of tension in your mind. Because your mind unknowingly slips into that fear and sense of anxiety and will feel very tired :!:
  • Lots of things to think about – how about choosing to think about something that will make you smile? Was that a phone call from a loved one? Or a sweet word from someone/ Or an appreciation? Feel good about urself, because you are worth it! :)
  • Listen to light music – of your choice. Walk while listening (not brisk walking, just complete your work, cleaning, or washing and keep the music on)
  • Work begins at 9:00 and ends at 7:00pm. After that – if you are still thinking about work – then you don’t have a proper sense of time management. I am not kidding, I used to think a lot about work until recently I found how nice it is to FORGET work when I am away from work!
  • Try taking a hot shower before sleep (I am still trying to do this – the very thought of getting prepared to take a bath before sleep – makes me tired and I am off to the bed – so you see, I am yet to try this part. But no harm in sharing tho! )
  • Keep a pillow under your knees while sleeping. It relaxes your mind.
  • Make sure your feet is clean. Don’t go for a hard wash. Just wash with Luke warm water and make sure it’s clean.
  • Avoid fluid consumption at least 2 hours before bed; it will reduce the need to wake up in the middle of the night. – You know what I mean.
  • Make sure the room is dark (if you are scared – like me, use a dim bed light that gives you the feeling that – you are still aware of what’s happening around)
Hey people why don’t you contribute your tips too?

few more tips .....
1. Detail someone to say "Jaldi soo javvo nahi to bhoot ayega"
2. Just think that 2morrow is holiday, so you will feel happy and thus sleep like a baby.:p:p
will be back with more.........
Thank you Sumit...
@ Suresh... that was funny - Jaldi soo javvo nahi to bhoot ayega
and sleeping thinkin teh next day is a holiday.
In my case - if I think the next day is a holiday - then its fun time for me - I will be peaceful and watch TV...
And if I know the next day - I have work ...then while thiking abt itself will put me to sleep :-)
Of recent - I have been giving some good spl importance to me.. never think abt work after work. Think abt ur self and ur loved ones... they need u
Dear Asha, very usefull info, though i don even follow a single step pointed out by you.. i do watever u have suggested not to do, but still....... I get a good sleep.... i guess its all in mind....
Thats interesting Vivek!!!!!
I took so much time in explaining it...but u gave a one liner - and that is a hit!!! trust me I was laughing for a long time lookin at that message.
You are right - the mind must be clear. If not able to sleep - then ppl can try the above to induce the habit of sleeping.
trust me... I tried it... and nowadays.. I sleep easily like say at 8:30 pm:sleep:
:p:p:mrgreen: and wake up at 8
It totally depends on one’s individual metabolism and habits. The suggestion Asha point out is really helpful if u cannot control d stress stuff. Hope u all SLEEP WELL!!! Cheers:p
Good post Asha...
Raviiii...are u talking about eternal sleepppp...:shock::shock:
to add on ...never take a nap or sleep during daytime....by doing this we'll become tired at night so that we go straight to bed....also have your favorite comfort pillows and blankets...and sleep like a baby after a tiresome day:rolleyes:...as Vivek has said its again the mind...so sleep only when you feel sleepy else get out and do something which might be boring for you..like I try reading a book upside down:-D:rolleyes:
another thing to get sleep is to work all day and at night sleep like a log / dog :roll:
I guess you just started a thread on -No time for personal work! Where can we work all day if you want employers to give people extra time everyday for their personal work? :?::?: Just a thought!
