Dear Anurag,
Pay Band & Grade Pay are similar. the recent development is Pay Band. Band is nothing but grading the employee as per his job description and connecting his pay to his band or Grade. Since i had been in retial, would like to share which i hope may of useful to you.
Grade Designation Pay
Grade 1 Customer Support Rep Trainee Rs.4500
Grade 2 Customer Support Rep Rs.5500
Grade 3 Sr. CSR Rs.6500
Grade 4 Jr. Executive Rs.7500
Grade 5 Executive Rs.8500
Grade 6 Sr. Executive Rs. 9500 it goes on
The difference between the grade in thier salary you can have it from your Management.
Hope it is clear.

Hi!

There is more to Job Grades/ Bands than what you are trying to present here. If this is the way job grading and salary structures are to be made, then there is no reason for multinational consulting organizations like HayGroup, Hewitt, and Watson Wyatt to exist.

Organizations, regardless of the industries where they belong, must adhere to the appropriate methodologies of job grading/ banding. Designing the rate ranges of job grades/ bands need some expertise and current market data as reference point. The rate differences of each job/ position does not automatically entitle them to a new/ higher job grade. Moreover, the assignment of positions within bands must strictly follow the concepts of job family classifications. It must also cover/ include all positions that exists within a given organization.

I suggest you guys should invest some money by attending Salary Structure Design trainings/ seminars to be able to understand the complexities of this subject matter.

Or, call professionals like us so you can just sit and relax while we design your company's salary structure. But, contact us only if you have budget.

Best regards.
