Ravi boss,

We should behave like 21 st Century HR professional and not like 20th Century Personnel and Administration Managers who were only bothered for office rules and regulations and disciplinary actions and misconducts.

We are living in new age work culture. In my office almost 60% staff is youth and they are in affairs and romance but that has improved our efficiency because this romance has worked like motivating factor and everyone is punctual and regular without absenteeism. Moreover our leave is also very less most of staff encash leaves because our office is attractive place to all these love birds.

Eventually, all staff who are in affair are vieing for better performer and smarter than their co-employee who they feel is their competitor in impressing female employees. This work's like motivating factor and efficiency is improved and our employee become smarter and smarter.

Don't only look at bad side effects of office romance but you must see positive impact also and appreciate.

Dear Ravi....dear dear Ravi:
Its not abt Romance that anyone is talking here. Its abt how that romance affected the WORK PLACE.
The HR here (Partho) does not want a relationship problem become the cause of a "Work Problem:"
So Partho was just seeking advice on how to address this issue and tel the "broken up couple" - that - "I dont care what happens between u two, but I care abt the work, and now make sure that work is not affected"
He was jus seeking help on that.
You have not understood the question as such - u probably though that the HR wanted to make sure the RELATIONSHIP continues. Which is not the case here...

When the personal relations in office become hurdle and effect on office decorum then this is the responsibility of the management staff to discuss the issue frankly with them. Spreading roamers and badmouth effect reputation of the employees and the concern.
Hope you understand Mr. Ravi – if you can!!

Many thanks to Satish, Ash, Pankaj, Ravi,Abraham, Rashid and all who participated in this discussion. My special thanks to Ash, Rashid and PanKaj who have understood the concern in right sprit and express their views.
Interestingly, both quarreling couple now compromised and working normally and I got information that they are happy now. I also want to forget as this has not affected our work and office culture as whole.
This is happy end to this short story but very intereting reply's from all of you made discussion worth reading.
Kind Regards
Partho

Nice duscussion .
What if HR person is in affair with coworker.:icon1:
Is it right for for Hr person to get into affair with the coworker?:)
I guess as many of us said They should keep it secrete untill they are
ready to share it with company employees.

Dear Friend,
HR person is also human being and nothing wrong in romance instead of hurting others HR person can romance its good.
Your views are conservative and you have to think more openmindedly and showing respects to the feelings of all those who are in affairs because we are civilised people and human being are bound to sharing his/her emotions and get attached to another person.

Hello Partho,
Like Shakespeare said: All's well that ends well.
All we can hope is they stay that way, and even if they didn't, at least they don't become a headache AGAIN from the HR perspective.
And coming to our GR8 Ravi, i think you need to grow--emotionally Ravi...NOT mentally or physically. If all you can see in a relationship is the physical part, all I can say is: you are missing a LARGE part of your life. Like someone said: true love starts @ 40-when a lot of what you feel about love is out-of-focus........if you know what it means.

According to me no romance is bad if such thing carry with some seriousness. We must respect the peoples emotions and feelings for each other. Abraham
