Hi all want to know your views on the appraisal system in the it industry. we currently follow a 6 monthly appraisal system. want to know is the same followed in rest of the middleware it organizations. what should be the correct method to evaluate an it professional. i mean what type of appraisal system should be used ?

Hi everyone i am working with an event mgmt company which has recently been started. it got operational from nov2007. im the only one working in hr.we have no performance appraisal system in place here. we ve our branches in mumbai bangalore kolkata etc. nw i ve to present a performance appraisal system to my boss asap. i ve no idea abt the appraisal system as im a fresher. can u plz help me . i want to know how n where do we begin evaluating performance. wat kind of info is required and wat formats would i need. i want a simple appraisal system. if someone can provide me with a sample syetm it would be v useful... thanks shweta
Mbo appraisal system
Can anyone help me of how to run mbo management by objectives appraisal system? what forms steps should be involved in order to conduct this appraisal. i have jds of whole staff with me the need is of how to use them for appraisal. just to give some background of my company it is an it firm having 100 employees. they dont have any proper setup of hr policies and performance management all tasks are done on adhoc basis. since there is no hr structure exist so should i go for mbo or is there any other appraisal system which is suitable for this situation. thanks

Problems in performance appraisal
Hi everybody one of the major problems that we face in the performance appraisal system is the "personal prejudice" factor . in this type the manager or the supervisor mainly rates the employees on the basis of his personal likes and dislikes for the employees. last year in the employee satisfaction survey in our company we saw a major dissatisfaction of employees towards our current appraisal system wherein the result was that nearly 70 said that there was biasness in the appraisal process. i need some suggestions and guidance as to how should we proceed to curb this problem in the appraisal system. i look forward for the replies of the forum members.
