Hi Dear All
Employees are bothering me with excessive questions related to salary
calculations.
I am working in Automobile service industry .
Most of the employees are At most 10 passed or less.
I Process salary for them ,this month salary got delayed and changed
later on .
Employees are bothering me with excessive questions related to salary.
I am feeling irritated now if I see any employee , coming for salary
doubt.
Most of the time they dont understand salary slips and ask same
question again and again.
If I am at the workshop ,they always stop me for salary doubt, and they
gather in 5 to 7 in Number and start asking questions.
Actually I like to help employees in all sort of matters, but this month
salary related doubts ,I have started feeling irritated if i see someone
coming for salary doubts.I some time lose my temper on them which
hardely used to happen before.
Dear friends Help me in the situation.

Hey C’mon obviously they will be worried keep yourself in their shoes. most of them are sole earning members and must be living hand to mouth. Be empathetic.

Pratap I can understand that repeating the same things like broken record would irritating to you.But you have no choice na..thats your job to answer ur employees about their salary n you can see as you said they at most 10th passed or less its obvious they would least be able to get your points at one go.

So work out on how you can target these group ppl.arrange a common meeting in batches along with your heads. make a note of repititive questions/doubts they come out with and create a solution.make it as transparent as possible making it easy to understand for them.

As Sunayna mentioned put yourself in their shoes and feel what would u expect.u mite come out with answers or really get in touch with ur industry kind of ppl about the situation asking how they manage such situations.Maybe the structure is too complex for them to understand so workout.

Hello,
Dont think like "they are bothering with excessive questions"
Its this way "They are confused about the salary payment calculatons"
:-)
Arrange a seperate session to help them understand abt the Salary Calculation. Explain everyone in the group and you can request them to get their questions clarified in the same session.
Also try covering other topics that they usually come up to u for questions (which u think can be shared - like HR policies)
If possible, put a small note on the notice board that would help them look upto and self clarify it by themselves. (after the session)
Make sure u carry a smile with u :-) They trust u...thats why they run to u.

Hi, Yes, u need to arrange a separate session for employees to explain about their salary break-up. Its their right to know about their salary details. Dilshad

Others faliures should not be your failures...
and neither should ur failure must be made as others failures.
It is all in how u r communicating the message. If u think its difficult and it will not get into their head - it will not work.
If they think its not important - they will not understand it either.
Purpose must be clearly communicated. It takes effort in preparation.. Its not like the material what we can prepare for executive level session. Dont under estimate by thinking they are just 10th pass and will not understand. Lets not balme our tools if we cant do it.
I know its not an easy task. If all of us are looking for an easy job - either we are over qualified for what we are doing, or we are not worth the role.

I agree with Asha. You should have separate weekly sessions, to explain in detail each component of the salary break-up. In fact, you could cover only one component per session to make sure that they understand each topic extremely well.
