Hi All,
We are thinking of giving employees a desireable salary package.
For example, reduce basic and add the same to other allowance. This will reduce the PF that he/she has to pay. And the net take home will be more without effecting the monthly gross salary.
As PF deduction is 12% on the basic. So, can we deduct PF on the minimum basic i.e. 6500/- irrespective of whatever basic an employee is given in the salary structure.
Means: If my Basic salary is Rs. 11000/-. Then can the PF contribution of 12% both employer and employee be made only on the minimum basic for PF which is 6500/-

dear payal
you can not reduce basic now.however for new empkloyee u pay PF ON 6500 Max but once u have paid on 10000 than u can not reduce the same.for new joinings u can do.
basic shuold be in ratio and u should follow some salary structure which should seems to be reasonable.

Hello Mr. Malik,
Thanks for your reply!
But, whenever there is any case like salary revision the PF deduction is done on the new basic amount whatever it is.
If at all we are thinking to change the salary structure (as i discussed above) & bring it to live with the Appraisal that v may do in Oct' 09, then d PF deduction will be as per that basic salary.
I hope i am clear in making you understand my question?
