Hi:
My name is Ruchi, working in a software company as a HR. Its campus season right now and most of the companies are fighting to get the top position in the leading colleges.
We normally give presentations when we go for campus.............. how do we go about giving good presentations.I mean what all should be there in the slides which we show to the students ...etc
Cheers,
Ruchi

So ready to make some careers shine..Gud!!

The Topics/aspects that one should consider while making presentations @Campus are as below.

a) About the company

- Kindy do not copy/paste description of the company from the company wesite as students would have gone through it earlier before attending the session

b) Growth details

- Elaborate on the growth details, say Netprofit of company over last 6 years

- Awards & achievements

c) Job profiles available

- This is the main part where students would be interested, so keep it precise & mention the details, if possible provide handouts of positions & job description

- Kindly mention as to what type of ppl u r looking @. Eg: If it is a leader ship position then one who is a team player should be emphasized, If Application support then problem solving capability should be emphasized.

d) Benefits of employee

- Just make a slide so that it answers one question...how would it benefit the student if he/she joins the company? (In terms of monitory/Hr specific)

e) Interview details

- Shortlisting criterias

f) Closing remarks/questions & ans session

- Be ready with certain set of answers that students would ask you. Because its all about marketing u know!!!

Some other aspects which we can take care

- Presentation should be around 15-20 min & give lot of time for Q&A.

- It basically depends on type of colleges ur visiting. If its an IIT/IIM then they would look @Job profile first & then sal. If its a B grade B-school then it would be otherwise.

- Mingle with a bunch of ppl around so that u can get to know about the communication skills of students, attitude

- Get in touch with placement officer, have details of top 10 students in college, or say top 10 students in oracle/java papers. This information would be provided to you on special request.

Bottom line is do your homework....we were also students remember??

Some decent reasons for considering campus placements...
1) Cost cutting...
Obviously
a) affordable manpower, i.e. cheaper than market
b) Cost of recruitment reduces, i.e. no more search for manpower, no schedules, no meetings..
c) Dont have to pay naukri/other job sites
2) Large pool of fresh talent @one place
a) Who have the energy & drive in working, thinkin out of the box, as this is their first job
b) If you can recruit the best talent from campus, the company would gain more in this.
3) Flexibility
a) In terms of doing different projects, as they are start up's they can get into any project
4) Reference checking
a) Reference checking becomes easy, i mean to get to know the history/work ex of a person.
