Dear Seniors
Please help me find a solution to this situation.
A person who is a Trainee had been asked not to take Leave because of the Project Deadline. Now inspite of this clear communication he has taken leave. The purpose of leave was not at all of an emergency situation, which even we understand very well. This is also a situation where in the rest of the people are aware of the person's decision. Some of them even cancelled their leave for completing the Project Deadline.
Please guide me.
Thanks & Regards

Now that he has done it - n he is back, issue a memo with the details.
Let him know that the next memo would lead to questions on his continuation with the company.(kindly discuss the same with your manager / head). In this perod of recession - he needs to play safe.

This is not at a very big issue to make such a hue about it, if you are satisfied with his reply and reason of taking leave then LEAVE the trainee alone if you think he is just fooling you by taking leave, then issue a memo, but if you wrongly issue a memo it will come back to you tomorrow a big blow,

hi Ashwini
Taking leave is not a big issue until the employes gives prior intimation. An employer in no way can restrict him from his eligible leave. also you have to justify and analyse his leave case to case based on the reason of his / her leave. Also check whether an employee is a habitual absentee in nature, his past reasonwise leave history and all that. Then issue a warning memo as per companies standing order.
hope this will give you a clear picture to you

Hi, Taking a leave is not a big issue. If you are satisfied wid his performance and if you find his excuse genuine than leave him or give him a chance and if not then issue him a warning letter.
