Dear Sunil,
I don’t think being in favor of management should be called as “opportunists”. If the economy is down, HR should think of the company’s survival. If the company exists then only the question of employee welfare comes. Sometimes short term sacrifices results in big achievements. HR should have a broad vision to understand the situation and react accordingly…they need to make employees understand the reason behind each decision of the management.
