Dear members,
Am a retired short service officer of the Indian Army. Presently looking for a job preferably in Bangalore, but willing to relocate to other places. I desperately need your guidance on how to job hunt in the present scenario. Suggestions from all are welcome...

Its pretty sad to note that even with 71 views, no suggestions have come forth. Am just asking for your opinions and suggestions, not job openings per se. Maybe, this clears the confusion and hesitation.

Hi,
I think one of the ways is to contact your seniors who came out of Army and are already working in HR or other teams in other companies.
Second option is to submit your resumes to consultants
Third option is to register your resume on Job sites
Fourth option is to build your network through various networking sites such as Linked In, Yahoo groups, etc.
Before you adopt any of these options, it is mandatory that you understand your strengths and have a specific job you are looking for as you might have multitasked in Army. Your Resume should highlight all the above, so that you have high success ratio in terms of interview calls specially in these challeinging times.
Thanks and Regards
Siva

Hello as1686 for your kind comments.
As regards others who aren't helping, I would like to view it this way--maybe they aren't in a position to help? or maybe they are too busy with their own headaches in life? there could be umpteen possibilities if you think of it. The last of course is what you mentioned too....but let's not pass judgements of things/persons we don't know much about.
And let me tell you that I am saying this NOT b'cos I haven't had any such experiences in life...have loads of them-so many that quite a few relationships fell by the wayside [see my blog in this site to get an inkling]. But still I don't think it's wise to GENERALISE--putting all in the same basket. I don't know if this is called optimism, but that's how life is.
BTW, just remember a quote about the optimist: The optimist invented the aeroplane, and the pessimist invented the parachute.
Lecture bahut ho gaya naa:-D
