I need to develop a competency map of the current team, get a buyin from the customer regarding the needs then do a gap analysis and come out with a training plan.
My team is divided into Mechanical,Electronics,S/W dev and V&V and technical publication.
I am interested in developing just the Technical competency model as our performance system already takes care of the role based competencies.

Thanks for the document.
I am trying to build a 3 D map and the third dimension would be based on the persons role in the team.
As you know we have leads and managers and i am trying to define their skills for the same technical competency.
Apart from this i am looking at doing a gap analysis after determining the target levels.
