Dear Sowmya,

You need not to do any course for soft skill training. These skills are to be imbibed over a period of time.

Work as HR Generalist and gather as much experience as you can. To be a successful trainer, you should be a experienced person first. A trainer devoid of experience is like a parrot - who talks much but flies little.

When you gather your experience, attend your company's training classes as many as you can. Understand the delivery style of as many trainers as you can. This will be helpful to you in future.

In addition to this, never wait for your company to conduct some training programme. The way company allocates part of HR budget for training, you also should allocate part of your earning for sharpening your some skills. This will take you a long way.

Once a week I get a query for entering into training field. I just ask one simple question - how many training programmes have you attended? I get their answer as none! If you have not attended any training, how can you think of becoming trainer? It is very strange. Sitting in the pavilion, these persons wanted to become test cricketers what a joke?

Ok...
