Dear Seniorís,
I am MBA(HR & MARKETING)graduate working in a company as HR from last 2 years , Presently I am assigned for recruitment & MIS role, since because of global recession there is no recruitment happening in our company.
I am willing to learn or take some project inside the organization so that my KSA & my company will be benefited from this extra work and I can utilize my free time In development activities
Please request all of you to advice me on the projects because I am not getting clear picture on my thoughts , Looking forward for some valid ideas

Do some presentation work. Prepare some presentations on HR topics, search the net take some ideas from it and prepare your own presentations say on motivation, or any relevant topic which you think needs to be addressed in your company. This will add to your knowledge and you can give some sort of in house training in future which will benefit the company as well.

It is very much appreciated for your concern towards organization. You can select the following topics for the best run of organization,
a) Employee motivation - General
b) Forms of cost cutting to employee other than salary deduction
c) Basic requirements to employee + additional requirement ( employee physological behaviour on that)
d) How to reduce the extra facilities providing to employees by not effecting their motivation to work.

Appreciate your concern about the organisation. in the present recession , i think you can go ahead with following topics for research.
a) Employee motivation theory - General .
b) Employee behaviour under extra cost cutting
c) Total cost of epmployee = Employee cost in the form of salary + Reduction in other costs (without affecting employee motivation)
d) Best possible way to pull employee mind from recession. For example : Tasks to be assigned to employees when there is no WORK .

These times are best suited for HR personnel to do work on how to increase productivity / efficiency of staff or you can call it optimization of resources. You can also look at conducting training programs for the staff members (it can be soft skills training or job related training). Feedback on internal process or the appraisal process or on the companies overall policies and culture. There are so many things that can be done which will be beneficial to you and your organisation. At the same time you can also spend sometime on yourself by getting trained.

This is what I feel... In this recession market Appraisal, Cost cutting and Motivation just might not be a right choice as companies are going to implement the same in the best possible way.
I would suggest go for the KPA(key performance areas) of your employees... This will not only help you understand your employee skills but this matrix can also be helped in Performance Appraisal/Time Management/Training and Development/Motivation also...
