Hi,
I am working as a HR in a Private firm based in Chennai. One of our senior Employees is Applied for One Month Marriage Leave, We are ready to Approve it, But how many of those days has to be Paid?

Dear Saravanan,
Do u have any such provision in ur Leave Policy or Leave Rules of ur company. Generally employee should apply leave for stating the cause out of his Leave Available, unless specifically provided in ur Manual or Leave Policy..
Dear Experts/Seniors,Pls. suggest on my point.

No law can disqualify employee from being married just because you did not mentioned leave provision in your HR policy. Its your common sense what prevails.. Lets wisdom prevails... Badlu
It would be Paid Leave, to the extent of Leave Credit of the Employee:) Generally Marriage Leave is not specifically mentioned as a Category in Company Leave Policies.

Anyway the Employee has to be away on Leave - with or without pay - to enjoy the Event !.

As per the laws, there is no special rules for marriage leaves, the employees can avail of their Previleage Leaves for this purposes, can avail the full extent of his credit of PL. arlkrishna
Dear One, Would you provide me the maternity Leave benefit (STATUTARY)to the Regular and Probationary female employees.
Hi everyone, I agree with Mr. Ravi's comments. Generally Marriage Leave is not specifically mentioned in Company Leave Policy.
Should it be a part of Company Leave Policy, if yes then for how many days? Please give your valuable comments.

Dear all,
There is no specifications like marriage leave. For employee considaration you can approve that, it might be coming under CL according to the avails. But one month is very high.In our city people are marrying in the morning and coming to the office for work in the evening. How is that?.....
So just consider his one month leave once again and it might not be a bad impression among other employes to be take it for granted...
