10 Hot Tips to keep Jobs. Please give other Suggestions.

The recent IIP figures show where we are heading. Till the global economy recovers, Indian industry and service sector will be under great pressure.

Companies are forced to lay-off or re-deploy workers, as expected orders melt away. No one is safe anymore. So how do we protect our jobs and that of colleagues in all other departments?

  • 1. Take up Additional Responsibility, and make yourself Actually busy. (Many people were happy to do 9 to 5 job with hardly half the time spent effectively. They never take up extra chores. If a colleague is absent, so be it.)
  • 2. Learn otherwise unrelated works in an office and Offer yourself for work in other departments when need arises. (For eg. Engineering Managers could involve in Purchase, Sales, Maintenance Production)
  • 3. Avoid all leave. No half days; No vacations. (Your seat may not be there when you return)
  • 4. Take Active interest in Company’s Affairs. Empathies with falling order levels and offer to help in all ways possible.
  • 5. Agree to Salary Cuts. Cooperate with the management
  • 6. Even if you are not in Marketing, try and get references and possible orders for the company, through contacts which you may have never otherwise used!
  • 7. Do not “Show Act” to make Management believe that you are busy and important. Actors will face the axe first.
  • 8. Enhance your knowledge in different areas of work by participating in quick Training Courses, become useful in different departments and contribute to Company. Secure your place by being extra employable in multiple areas.
  • 9. Reduce /avoid all miscellaneous office expenditure (Stationary, local Travel, Entertainment etc)
10. Economize on Boarding/Travel while on Tour.

if people start following the above there would be no excitement in life.. fir job mein rehke kya faida if u spend 14 hrs daily in office n then go home and sleep ,, dont take any holidays at all by remaining in fear that your job will not be there,
aree let those HRs go to hell who have such attitude as if they are very very particular in following the above...
Life is to enjoy everytime, and work is only from 9 to 5,,,
dont be a sucker to all ur employess and make some foolish policy,,like the ones stated above, and yaar we live to enjoy,,, and earn to enjoy,,, so enjoy life,,
whenever in any job rape the company by quietly using telephone internet printer, xerox they are all for us, whenever i stay late i see i make std calls n take some printouts,, else the company will rape, u n leave u on road,, so dont be a fool ,, :x:x:x

But what is the gaurantee that you will not be fired out even if you follow these tips.
if the company wants to cut down the manpower, nobody can stop.
so think differently and find other options to meet this crisis at present or atleast be prepared to start something else other than the 9-5 job to safe gaurd ourself and our family.
I agree with Ravi as life is to enjoy....!!!

Dear Mr Info,
If you want to be successful HR Professional, try to best PR.
1. There is lots of work for HR. Why Additional responsibility, if the Management comes to know then they are ought to create/think negative opinion about you.

HR dept has to practice BEST CODE TO CONDUCT in the industry, i.e. good behavior, uninformed leave, punctuality etc.

HR is running two families; one is industry and second is his own family. How can you forget your own family?

Leave we take either not well/emergency/problem/occasion or else take our family for long vacation. This is social responsibility were each of us has to do when staying in society. This is CHANGE from regular day to day work and we find relaxation.

Why salary cuts. Obviously you are going to deduct salary from the Middle to down level. Believe me if we are true HR professional we would give best to own employee. Already private sectors going through COST CONTROL programme (cost control in all respect starting from training, welfare, salary etc). Further in this programme even if we join, then we are not building good environment.

Me too hear from my own Management COST CONTROL, WHY? Reason
If waste/not in use/excess manpower then I am the person to be blamed for this. Where there is requirement obviously one has to give? This is bloody wrong tactics where every Management plays?

Why to Co-operate with Management- where we are mediator/facilitator between both. If the UNION comes to know then they will crew off. In this respect take confidence of your Management neither getting carried away with their words

Lastly but not the least where is required it is required, you have to give. First take confidence of your own work-force.

Suppose, if any industrial disputes (any problem), like Man-power shortage, strike, slow-down work Management will be first to blame you and throw you out

Inspite give them
1. Good Training and Development Programme
2. Increase their efficiency
3. Welfare Plan (Like Mediclaim…)
4. Give Production Incentives
5. Reduce Absentism and Attrition
6. And Many more

Tomorrow even your production increase with good quality parameter (no customer complain), Management is first to appreciate it. Try not to be crooked. Only to save job, don't compromise with your ETHICS taught/learned

With Regards

Vivek

Please never loose your credibility by following these kind of small tricks, it will not good for professional life.
Please always think for long term. Have patience, and every thing will come to change as you expect.
It would be very difficult to come out, once we are habituated with those things.
Be well professional and respect your job.
