Hi HR professionals ,
We are all aware the job market is very down sized at present .
many are losing jobs,salary cuts,and related problems.
Even I am afraid what will happen next . Many are saying its going
to take 24 months for the situation to cop up.
Or are the companies taking the advantage of this situation to cut their staff ?
I want to have a opiniun poll here.

This is just my opinion.
Companies are not taking the advantage as such. If projects, business and market is not there----- what they can do??????//
If the pb settle downs within some period, it'll be good for all otherwise definitely we should face the pbs. of losing jobs,salary cuts,and related.
Hope for the best.

No I don't think companies taking the advantage, there is increased pressure on business and industry to cut cost during economic slowdown. In the years to come, it will become more important than ever for business and industry to find innovative ways to reduce cost.
Other than cutting their staff, companies should restrict business travel, cut down on grand lunches, & extra perks in these tough times. Employees will also understand, the need for such measures in these tough times and will co-operate.

I think some companies are taking the advantage of this scenario ,because some companies which is recruiting at this stage are offering low salary to the candidates and poor candidates have to accept the offer bcoz of this present scenario. What i mentioned is applicable to few companies not all the companies......

Hi all,
I am posting my comment for the first time as I am also victim of this situation and realised it's not market which is responsible for cutting down the jobs but the company is taking advantage of this situation.
When I have joined a company as Hr Manager that time recruitment was full fledeged without any thoughts in the mind, I have suggested them not to hire a staff which are not required and they have stopped it also.
After few months they realise its becoming burden for them and management has taken advantage of the current market situation and sacked around 10 to 15 peple within a day in the month of September.
I have a question to all of you dont you think it was injustice for the people who have given more than a year to the company and now they are jobless???????
According to me company should have planned manpower in advance and they should not play with the career of employees just like that.

companies are recognizing the non performers and they are indirectly cutting down the costs by reducing there which is a major factor in many companies

Yes, even I would also agree with others on this opinion tht it's not the companies who are exploiting..........but instead their poor resource planning wch has forced then to do so............those who lost jobs really have to deal with such kind of situations atleast for some time now.
But I would really question the resource planning of such companies ?

Dear Friends,

Yes, I too heard that there are few companies who take advantage and few stick to their Org / employee interest and work-out a midway it all depends...

And I strongly believe why not the employer point of view taken into consideration……

Why should we think that the companies are taking advantage why can’t we think that they are trying to hold/cut few jobs till they get projects in hand and in this whole process they are doing all sorts of things like cutting the staff, salaries and other unnecessary expenses to go long way with respect to companies point of view and also employee career/life I think that this is a testing time to everyone and only those who can forward boldly to face the situation in coming days will come out with flying colors and establish themselves forever.

I don’t think that companies will ever run knowingly that they will face problems in coming days and do nothing and do nothing about it….

I equal feel sorry for those who never a got a chance….So let us prepare our colleagues and subordinate to get ready for the coming days to save one and all in avoiding the so called recession….
