This is Rajesh G. I am Pursuing my II-MBA in H.R @ Anna University.
I would like to the know the Impact of the Financial Recession & Recent Terror Attack . As Pink Slips are given to employees in most of the companies we could see downsizing being done everywhere....
1. Up to what extent the Demand for H.R Freshers will get affected?.
2. At this critical point of time apart from the curriculum What are the important concepts the freshers should learn ...?
3. What exactly the companies are expecting from the Freshers at this point of time....?
4. In what way could we mould ourselves we are struck in the middle of the road.........
Kindly guide freshers like me we are hardly in need of your help at this critical stage.....
Thank you

same is the case with other HR freshers too. Seems we have stuck midway. Future is very dark. Would it be fruitful to work in consultancies from career point of view.

Rajesh,
I can understand your concern. The slowdown in the jobmarket will definitely dimish
in the coming months. Meanwhile, you could pick up a few practical skills that will aid you in your prospective HR job.
As a stop gap arrangement, why do'nt you learn / pick-up presentation skills , Excel macros, pick up a freelance recruiting job, or learn counselling skills, see if you can
be part of campus recruitment programme, be a part of Teach India initiative, e.t.c
Recession is the best time - there are a lot of opportunities....
....for skilling and re-skilling.
Start freelancing....do'nt wait. Look for internships.
In fact i see a lot of hiring in temp jobs.
Refresh your skills...and get those value-adds
Even if you do'nt have a job ...look for ways to pick up practical skills.
Learning never goes waste...
Regards
Mohan
