Hello richa,
First you have to put a title for your project and then draw a hypothesis, make objectives for your work,prepare a methodology for collecting data, be careful while preparing questionnires and making surveys, analyse the results and then draw some conclusiions.
Having a day to day work schedule will help you alot. If you can give the exact information that what you need to know, then i can help you.

thanks for your concern.I have been taking the project on HR functions in general which includes t&d.PAR, recruitment & selection,promotions & demotions,transfers etc,so i gave the title as "HR FUNCTIONS IN BANKING SECTOR IN INDIA".
In fact i have read much theory about all that you have suggested but dont know how to implement actually.
please can you give any practical idea about which type of hypothesis i can draw,what shoud be my objective and further the same for methodology.

when you are mainly focusing on banking sector i.e. service sector you have to differentiate the HR functions from other sectors like manfacturing.

If you observe in the banking sector the HR functions mainly deal with recruitment and selection and as you said T&D activites. Labour legislation and other trade uniion matters are the least bothered issues.

you can also get the information in How HR played a vital role during the last recession period.

Many people thought that theory is different from practice, but the real fact is theory acts as a foundation for practice, lets take an example of our home, we may not use the foundation for our day to day activites, we just depend on the floor.Just imagine if the foundation was not properly establlished, will the floor get strengthen, Like wise your theory also serves as a foundation for your conceptual understanding.

It is very good to hear that you have sound knowledge on theory,try to examine in the workplace how does the theory translates into practice?

Hyphothesis: it is nothing but what you are expecting from a research, the pre assumption of results. for example you are conducting a survey on job satisfaction in ''X''.your hypothesis is ;X' industry employees are having more job satisfaction. But be careful your research is more powerful when your hypothesis is supported by the +ve results.
