Thank you Vinutha. You have suggested exactly what I am trying to do at this point of time. In order to cut cost, I have stopped taking external support from consultants for whatever requiremets we have right now.I am working on it myself, be it a junior position or a very senior one. But only problem is there's no appreciation here for the work I do. From the day I've joined this organisation, I have handled most of the requirements myself, instead of taking external suppport.

I think this is not the right time to leave the job... take atleast one year experience of this industy, coz every industy have their own norms which you will learn during your tenure.

First I would like to thank you Bhavana for your response.I must say "Grass is always greener on the other side":)
Company is not yet well established. We are still creating different postions. Only problem is Bhavana, they never involve me in decidion making. We don't have a HR round here. I only source and co-ordinate. I am not even fully involved in salary negotiation. MD does it for senior position. Can you suggest some changes. How should I initiate the concept of performance appraisal.

Helloe there... Look at this job as fresh clay in ur hands ... u can mould it any which way you like... U can start with establishing the basics and work ur way upward. Once u are able to work a plan or things u want to eatsblish i am sure you can even justify adding people to your team to implement it :-P
There is no such thing as a dream job :icon10: its what we make of it :-D

Dear Loveleen,
Thank you so much for your suggestion. I would request you to explain all the topic like consisting of policy guidelines/appraisals/payroll/performance management/training in detail as to how shall i proceed. I would also like to inform you that i am working with this organisation since June, 2008. So far I've handled recruitment, I took initiative in opening corporate salary account, farewell parties, distribution of sweets during Diwali, which was not in practice before my joining. I am trying to change the format of our appointment letter because till date it consiste sof a single page. I am at the registered office in kolkata where no. of employees are around 15. Most of our employees are at the site in Orissa. Kindly give suggestions keeping in mind that all powers are vested in MD's hand.

Thanks a lot. You've understood the problem well as you have went through the same situation. Even in my organisation, nobody is flexible enough to adopt new policies. They are satisfied with whatever they have been following since ages. In this situation all my efforts are wasted. Nobody appreciates the vision I have for the company in terms of certain changes. Still, could suggest some changes that could be made under this situation, since you've faced the same problem. You can step into my shoes and think.

hi,i would suggest you to not to change job until unless you get a good oppurtunity.i am resource manager in an IT company,so i know the market...this is not an right time to change the job.dont worry that you are not doing managerial work.i believe that hr manager should know all the work in hr department as well as knowledge in other department as wht employee do and how they do..As the company has started new,it takes time to allote a work according to level, designation. try to make job interesting by inventing new policies, rules etc,,,,
