Hi Suki,
Headhunting means to get the candidate from competitors company.
To tap candidates who had not uploaded their CV on portals. There are many consultants who work without portals.

Hi Suki,
Headhunting is kind of recruitment process, for which one can approch different sources, like : Consultant, Job portel sites like (Times job, Naukri,Mnester..... get registered with these sites and search according to your requirement), friends, Ref. etc. .
In google search you can get some free sites where you can hunt the candidates as per your requirement. But before Hunting you should know exact requirement like in which field you are looking for, yr. of experience, pay range, ..... these things will make your hunting more easy and effective.
Thanks & cheers:-P

Good replies there, reaching out to passive job seekers and convincing them to take up a job is not an easy task. Most headhunters consider proactive networking as the best strategy, approaching them through a reference or mutual contact generally results in a positive response.

Dear Mr.Suki,
As a HR person or as a part of HR recruiter who should know the definition of Head Hunting ?.
Its a simple term in English that is the practice of taking a person's head after killing him or her.
Now a days a small or big concern is doing the same techniques that throgh aquire the capable person or top officials from their competitor and bring them into their concern
Actually it is not easy task to attain this.
If you want to attain this, first you should improve your communication and negotiation skills and moreover you should grow with your convincing and presence of mind as well.
These all that you have then you can serve with your organisation in a possible or better way. which means that you can source any capable person from anywhere in the world.
Hope, its understood....

HI,
I agree with the details that you shared on Head Hunting.
To add my opinion to this either its head hunting, or cold calling, or doing poaching or any consultancy or incase HR calling directly to candidates for any opening in parent or client company we are tapping or head hunting resources of other companies.
Infact the market is this only.:icon1:
Thats the way we run our business

Dear All,
Very Good Evening from Anish.
All the points which were discussed are worthy.
Head hunting in my openion is just acquiring a specific personnel from open market or from specific competitor. It becomes unethical when we target a personnel from direct competitor of same industry.
As Ms. Shabz explained that its not always good for organisation. It creates unethical practices to hunt each others' talents & increases cost too.
Kindly comment on my openion.

Anish
