i have been asked to change the performance appraisal form which is used presently in the company. at present in appraisal form employees are asked to mention their 5 KPI and give weight 4 dat after dat HOD will give his weightage. but management feels a new method needs to be introduced.another problem is if a persons profile changes twice during evaluation period which profile of his should be evaluated.

Hi,
First we must know what kind of service you are providing......if its software services......then the KPI(s)/KRA(s) should first be listed and the weightage should be given accordingly.
What is the present method of appraisal that is being followed in your company? what is the manpower strength of your company? on the basis of this info, you wud be able to decide which method of appraisal to choose..u can carry out a competency mapping before laying down the parameters for appraisal...........u can follow the 360 degree of appraisal (its results could however be disastrous if not implemented in a proper way), BSC or the bell curve method.........there are so many diff methods that u can use.
