We had done market survey in Sept and projected approx. 14% avg raise. Some companies have already started delaying the payouts of performance bonus, hiring freeze and cost cutting etc.

all of them look good but you might have to also include the list of companies which are surveyed since the information which is being shown wouldn't suffise the need of the end user if they are not able to find the company names which are being surveyed. For Example, you gave a name of BPO, but in actual terms there could be so many different sectors which have technical skills, non technical skills but still are under the BPO Unit. Ex:- Dell Inc, HP, IBM & Others. do let me know if you are not able to get my question because there are many nuances added to this point. you can mail me @ if you need any help understanding what i mean by this.

Hi Trupthi..I only got myself enlisted in citehr today, and was going through the Hewitt projections. Guess what! in the couple of months after that report was published, things have changed drastically:(. I am in the Compensation practice for more than 3 years now, and I would say IT/ITES would be budgeting somewhere around 8%, and MFG/ENG a ball park 10% this year, which is a good 4% lower than the Sept update.
Btw do you have any updated report with you.

14% hikes are history..The latest is that 40% of the fortune 500 companies are putting a moratorium on any kind of hikes in 2009..Sad reality which will be seen across many sectors..IT/Manufacturing will do hikes between 5%-10% max this year, if they are sane.
