Dear all i have just joined this company where i found that we don t have any certificates or records of our old employees like educational technical certificates or documents like address proof id proof birth proof. their personal files include only photo or single bio data. what you seniors thinks should i ask for those documents if yes then why? what importance does it have? need your opinion. regards bhavna.

Dear patrons my topic of discussion today is employee personal file resignation of employee under shops & establishment act. 1948. i am currently working with it company joined just in dec 2021. due to march ending ca was performing audit of hr department. they raised a query that in some of the employee files those employees who has resigned resignation documents are also not attached. now my question is related to my today topic. is it mandatory to keep print of resignation & resignation acceptance copy in employees files as per s & e act 1948? region gujarat. my management has also given instruction to keep resignation & acceptance of resignation as print copy. as throughout my 10 years career in hr i havent seen any resignation in physical copy always got a mail from employees personal id. & now a days in digital era people keen to have soft copy then hard copy. so kindly suggest legal aspects on the subject & revert on this. thanks & regards maulik dave

I would like your guidance on the new initiative which we are proposing to inititae in our company.we are proposing to maintain the soft copy of the documents like resume and address and all other details can be updated in the oracle software. i am little bit confused. just want to seek clarity that is there ant legal compulsion to maintain the employee file of an employee in the hard copy format or not
