Department MARKETING Organizational Placement FUNCTIONAL REPORTING TO DIR/JMD & ADMN TO PRESIDENT - WJOB DESCRIPTION / KEY RESULT AREA· Overall responsibility of marketing department and formulation of general guidelines for marketing operations / manpower management· Market Research.· Collection of market intelligence, regular assessment of market trends with respect to changes in the market, · Sale of steel and other items as per annual targets involving order booking and execution as per schedule· Based on assessment of market trends, evolving and implementing marketing policies for achievement of targets· Efficient operation of existing distribution network and modernization / expansion of the same· Planning of market oriented production and dispatch programme in accordance with annual targets in co-ordination with plants; monitoring fulfillment of such plans· Formulation of long term plans of production and provide necessary infrastructure· Formulation of annual and monthly production plans i.e. detailed plans for product mix and special quality steel production to optimize production of value added items in line with market demand· Analyzing performance of plants against targets on a periodic basis· Introduction and review of scientific systems of inventory control in plants. Formulation of annual targets of inventory holding in consultation with plants, where required initiate action for disposal of non-moving / slow moving inventory· Identifying training needs and provide the same to concerned personnel· Implementation of ISO 9001:2000 systems in the department· Measuring and enhancing customer satisfaction· JOB DESCRIPTION / KEY RESULT AREAMINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION· Should be primarily a capable and a genuine leader.· Should have minimum 5 yrs experience as a Deptt. /Sectional head.
